The Philadelphia Eagles officially kicked off training camp practice on Wednesday and beforehand, head coach Nick Sirianni addressed the ongoing rumors surrounding his relationship with quarterback Jalen Hurts .

Like every other coach, Sirianni said he doesn't listen to the reports or rumors that come out and Hurts' overall relationship is in good standing.

“The only thing you can judge relationships on is your personal interactions with people," Sirianni told reporters on Wednesday. "Not any report that comes out. Jalen and I’s relationship is good. Again, you just can judge it based on what your personal interactions are. So when you hear a report like that, you don’t put much stock into it, because quite frankly not everybody sees that. So I’m so excited for him and I to get into our fourth year together. We’ve done some pretty special things and I’m excited for him. He’s worked so hard at his game. Excited for him to be able to get out here today and have a good practice. Just looking forward to continuing to work with him and continuing to build on those special things we’ve done.”

Sirianni nor Hurts are ever going to come out and directly say that they have a problem, but t here were many signs last year .

The good news is that Sirianni is no longer in full control of the offense, which means Hurts won't directly be reporting to him. Instead, Hurts will spend the majority of his time working with Kellen Moore.

Sirianni was asked how his new coaching role changes or affects his relationship with Hurts now that he's in more of a CEO position.

"You know what? That’s a good question because I’m not in that quarterback room all the time anymore, some of those times you’d have that natural relationship because you’re always in there," Sirianni said. "But what I think’s been beneficial is that everybody needs that time with me, not just me being in the quarterback room. Me being able to be in the defensive end room, me being in the linebacker room, so naturally when you’re not just with the quarterback you have to carve out a little bit more time to talk to them, that you wouldn’t get when you’re in there all the time. So yeah, I do that for every position and I just have to do that a little bit more with the quarterback position because I’m not in there full-time.”

The Eagles have a lot to prove in 2024. And if they can't get it done, then both Sirianni and Hurts could be on the hot seat. So let's hope this distance between them works out in their favor.
