The Philadelphia Eagles took the field for their first training camp practice on Wednesday and quarterback Jalen Hurts spoke to reporters.

Of course, one of the first questions asked was about the recent rumors surrounding him and head coach Nick Sirianni's alleged disconnect.

Hurts cut the reporter off before he could finish and dove right into his answer which didn't really answer the question.

"I'm excited to be back," Hurts said. "Excited to go through this journey and go through this season with everyone here. Everyone. I trust Mr. [Jeffrey] Lurie, I trust Howie [Roseman], I trust coach Sirianni to lead us in the right direction. I know there are different roles in place. Everybody has different responsibilities. There may be more demands from some than others.

"I think, to win championships, to be the team we want to be, everyone has to buy into their role and be fully committed to doing their part and helping the team. I'm excited to go on the journey. I feel like for me, as a player, as a leader, everything we went through last year, I just feel like I'm equipped to handle whatever is to come."

Hurts was then asked how 2023, where the Eagles historically dropped a 10-1 start to the season, "tested" his relationship with Sirianni.

This time, he didn't give much of a run-around answer and hinted that he was frustrated with Sirianni last fall.

“I think we’re in a great place," I think any time you have any frustration, any time you have any adversity you have to overcome, it’s supposed to test you," Hurts said. "I think it’s a matter of being on the same page. If you’re on the same page we maybe would have accomplished the things we would have. We didn’t, but that’s a learning experience."

In the rest of his answer, Hurts tied in the message to his teammates that he gave on the first day of practice, emphasizing team over talent.

"I think it’s as simple as if I made it happen, I can make it happen," he said. "This team has made it happen before, there’s no doubt that we can make it happen again, but it takes what it takes. It takes being together. My message to the team, after we did our conditioning test, and even after our first day of practice, a good day of practice – talent, talent, I’ve been on very talented teams my whole career. Talent wins you games and it’ll take you very far, but it don’t last. Teams are what win championships and that’s what we’re trying to do, trying to take the next step. It’ll be an exciting journey.”
