Eagles Rookie Cooper DeJean’s Eminem Impersonation Hilariously Blows Up In His Face

Rookies traditionally have it a little harder during their first season in the NFL.

Philadelphia Eagles second-round pick Cooper DeJean learned that lesson the hard way after he was booed offstage by his teammates after his rendition of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” during the team’s talent show on Thursday.

The 21-year-old cornerback didn’t even make it through the first verse of the song before his teammates let him have it. Just seconds into his performance the crowd erupted in laughter before boos started raining in and objects started being thrown in his direction.

The rookie CB wrapped things up after roughly 30 seconds despite a few players encouraging him to keep performing.

Fortunately for DeJean, the Eagles didn’t draft him for his rapping skills. The Iowa alum was one of the top cornerbacks in college football last season, allowing a team-low 43.5 completion percentage against while holding opposing receivers to 194 total yards on 20 receptions, per Pro Football Focus.

DeJean recorded 10 pass break ups and two interceptions, and opposing quarterbacks had a passer rating of just 37.8 when targeting him.

He’s expected to compete for starting time in the Eagles secondary once he returns in three weeks from his hamstring injury.
