Jason and Kylie Kelce traveled to France to cheer on Team USA in the Olympics as the former NFL star is clearly enjoying the freedom of retirement.

Making the most of his first relaxing summer after retiring at the end of the last NFL season, Jason and Kylie headed to Paris on Saturday night to cheer on Team USA women’s field hockey team in their opening game against medal favorites Argentina. However, the U.S. was not able to upset the odds and fell to a 4-1 defeat.

The retired Philadelphia Eagles legend got in the swing of things as he paired a navy blue USA jumper with a matching beret. Kylie also showed her colors as she wore a red, white and blue jacket to cheer on the team.

"When we found out that we were going to have an opportunity to go to this, the more we thought about it, we were like, 'Let’s take advantage of it now that we can actually do it,'" Jason told the Associated Press . "We love sports, we love competition, we love world events. This is such a unique place where the entire world gets to come together and bond over competition and sports."

But the result didn’t appear to dampen Jason’s mood. He praised the team’s battle, saying he was “proud of the girls for how hard they fought” and that the game was “fun” to watch.

Kylie used to play field hockey growing up and in college at Cabrini University. She also knows a number of the team’s players having made a TikTok with Ashley Sessa and Kelee Lepage earlier this year. “I would say I’ve always wanted to come and see [the] Olympic games,” she said. “When they qualified to come to Paris, I was like, that kind of makes sense. And then, when I got to sit down with Ashley and Kelee, it was kind of a no-brainer. Through and through, it made sense. We’re happy to be here."

“It was just really cool to sit down and talk with them about what this means to them, how they’ve looked forward to it and what it took for them get here and it’s so amazing to see them on this stage,” she added. “It’s just sort of this full-circle moment of I feel like the field hockey community really bands together. No matter what level you’re playing, you can appreciate what this is.”

Sessa, 20, is the youngest member of the team and scored the U.S.’s only goal during the game. Speaking ahead of the Games, she paid tribute to Kylie for her "amazing heart" and "down to earth" personality. "Meeting Kylie was an amazing experience. To meet someone who also shares the same passion for growing the game,” she said. “Having the opportunity to connect and relate with her is great.”

Jason’s retirement from the NFL allows him to attend the Olympics, with the Games conflicting with NFL pre-season training camps. His brother Travis Kelce is currently mid-camp with the Kansas City Chiefs having spent time of his off-season break with pop star girlfriend Taylor Swift during her The Eras Tour.
