Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and head coach Nick Sirianni continue to be the subjects of some interesting rumors coming off the team's collapse last season.

Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, hired to replace Brian Johnson this past winter, raved about Hurts while speaking with reporters during a news conference over the weekend.

"You can just tell he’s in command, he’s in control," Moore said about Hurts, per Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. "He’s doing an excellent job at the line of scrimmage with the little nuances, little adjustments that he has at his disposal, and so it’s been really good."

Hurts' leadership style has repeatedly come into question after the 2023 Eagles lost five of their final six regular-season games before they suffered a 32-9 wild-card playoff defeat at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. More recently, it was reported earlier this month that the relationship between Hurts and Sirianni "is still a work in progress" after "there was some disconnect between them due to their personalities" last season.

Sirianni and Hurts insisted last week they are good and on the same page with Sirianni reportedly embracing a "CEO-type role" that ideally will help Moore get the most out of the signal-caller this coming season. Moore noted that Hurts has been a "huge part" of making modifications to Philadelphia's offense through the early days of training camp.

"I think his experience over the course of the last few years, all the things he’s been able to accomplish, we want to build on those things," Moore added about Hurts. "When there’s a comfort level with a certain concept or scheme, we want to make sure we emphasize that, continue to build off it."

Certain whispers have suggested the Eagles could part ways with Hurts and/or Sirianni following the 2024 season, as former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick reportedly wants to return to the sidelines next year and could ask that significant changes be made to Philadelphia's roster if the club endures another disappointing campaign.

Moore helping Hurts reclaim the form that made the signal-caller a 2022 regular-season Most Valuable Player Award finalist could ensure that the band stays together through at least 2025.
