Paul George shocked the NBA community when he decided to join the Philadelphia 76ers ahead of the 2024-25 season. George will form a new Big 3 alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey in Philly.
Many believe PG's addition will finally propel the 76ers past the second round in the postseason and ultimately win their first NBA championship since 1983. Speaking of Maxey, the talented guard was recently featured as a guest in his new teammate's podcast.
George and Maxey discussed a plethora of things. During the podcast, the 6'2" guard revealed that his parents aren't tall. PG13 grabbed the opportunity and made a hilarious Michael Jordan reference.
Maxey: "My parents are small. Like 5'6", 5'7", 5.8". They are that height."
George: " Milkman! Milkman situation right here."
MJ's hysterical milkman joke
Michael Jordan is widely considered the greatest basketball player of all time. One essential skill that MJ held was his excellent trash-talking ability. However, apart from his fantastic ability to play basketball, the Chicago Bulls legend's witty nature off the court gained him millions of fans.
A perfect example of MJ's unique sense of humor was on full display in an old David Letterman interview . Mike gave a hilarious response to being the tallest person in his family.
"I'm the tallest. My father is about 5'10, my mother is about 5'5, everyone else is about 5'6.5, 5'7. The milkman is about 6'7," Jordan said while laughing.
George used MJ's witty humor to get the better of Maxey during the latest episode of Podcast P. Maxey laughed off at the joke instead of taking offense to a seemingly wild joke about the height of his parents.
Maxey was shocked by the Sixers welcome message for PG13
George is expected to be the final piece in the puzzle for the 76ers to end their championship drought. The former Los Angeles Clippers star is coming off a terrific season in which he averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
The 9x NBA All-Star also turned back the clock a few times during the season by showcasing his explosive dunking ability. Keeping that in mind, his teammate Maxey had a funny reaction to the 76ers' welcome message for the veteran star .
"I was watching the highlights they posted when he signed, and I'm like, 'Listen here, I thought he was on my team. Why are they showing so many highlights of him scoring on me?" Maxey said.
The two stars seem to have already started to bond, at least off the court. The 76ers fan base hopes to see more of the same on the court when they play for the 76ers in the 2024-25 season.
