BRYCE Harper is staring down the biggest slump of his career while the Philadelphia Phillies continue to lose games.

The Phillies were swept by the New York Yankees on Wednesday after losing 6-5.

It was the first time the Phillies were swept in a three-game series at home since July 22-24, 2022.

Harper wasn’t much help for the team as he went 0 for 5 at the plate and has just one hit in his last 30 plate appearances.

After the loss, the eight-time all-star shared what the team needs to do to get back on track.

“Pretty sloppy as a team — we’ve got to turn the page, we’ve got to cowboy up and play the right way,” Harper said.

“We’re a damn good team, It’s not that hard, it’s baseball.

“It’s how the game works we’ve got really good players in here.”

Harper’s slump is his worst as a member of the Phillies and in his 13-year career.

The last time a Phillies player struggled this much was in 2021 when Rhys Hoskins got just one hit in 36 plate appearances.

Philadelphia has now lost four straight games which is the team’s longest losing streak of the season.

The Phillies (65-43) had a dominant 10-game lead in the NL East on July 5.

But as of August 1, the lead has dwindled to just six and a half games over the second-place Atlanta Braves (58-49).

“Going through stretches like this is part of the game,” Harper said.

“It’s part of growing as a player. Just got to keep on keeping on.”

Harper had a chance to pull off some heroics in the Phillies’ loss on Wednesday but was unable to get the job done.

Kyle Schwarber hit a leadoff single against Yankees closer Clay Holmes and then Austin Hays flew out.

The two-time MVP stepped up to the plate with a chance to win the game.

But Harper swung at Holmes’ first pitch and bounced into the game-ending double play.

The Phillies star believes he will break out of the slump after having good at-bats.

“I just have to try to battle out of it as best I can,” Harper said.

“I thought my at-bats were better, so that’s good. Just got to find a way.”

The Phillies will begin a West Coast road trip traveled and open a three-game series Friday against the Seattle Mariners.

During the road trip, the team will also play against the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers and the surging Arizona Diamondbacks .
