Kelce signed a deal to be an analyst for ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown in April, a month after he retired from the NFL after 13 seasons in the league.
He recently appeared at the 2024 Paris Olympics and was a super Team USA fan, attending numerous U.S. events with his wife, Kylie.
Fast forward to Thursday at 7:00 pm Eastern and live TV viewers were greeted to Kelce appearing in ESPN’s studios alongside host Scott Van Pelt and analysts Ryan Clark, and Marcus Spears during a special edition of NFL Countdown for the Hall of Fame preseason game.
Kelce was seen wearing a beret – a French hat – as Van Pelt comically introduced the retired NFL offensive lineman.
“I wondered if he might wear a tie. He did not. Jason Kelce’s back from Paris,” he said.
Kelce, meanwhile, was seen dapping up his colleague Spears.
Van Pelt also said the hat “looks good” on Kelce, who replied, “I feel Parisian.”
Spears then remarked about Kelce’s headwear, saying “He look like he about to shank somebody.”
That caused all of the panelists to laugh as the program continued.
ESPN’s Monday Night crew of Joe Buck , Troy Aikman, and Lisa Salters will be on the call of the Bears-Texans preseason game.
Kelce enters his new ESPN job after his broadcasting experience while he was a player last year.
During a bye week in 2023, he enjoyed a stint with Amazon’s Thursday Night Football .
“This is all new territory for me,” Kelce said at the time.
“I have even more respect for it now. It’s very hard to do something live, reactive of stimulus that just happened and having something clever and meaningful to say.”

He earned six first-team All-Pro nods and seven Pro Bowls.
Kelce helped the Eagles win their first Super Bowl in 2018.
The 36-year-old played his whole career in Philadelphia, and it’s likely he’s earned his spot in the NFL Hall of Fame.
