A.J. Brown currently ranks amongst one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, but just how good is he?

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback back Isaiah Rodgers joined 94WIP's morning show where he said Browns is the "Julio Jones of this era."

That's not the first time that Brown has been compared to the seven-time Pro Bowler and future Hall of Fame.

And it shouldn't be the last given the simple fact that Brown and Jones are both gigantic targets who can out-physical opposing cornerbacks and are built for jump balls.

But what makes the comparison so intriguing is that Brown was actually inspired to play football in eighth grade after watching Jones play ball during his rookie NFL year back in 2011.

Prior to that, Brown had played just baseball and basketball. But after studying his film, Brown thought to himself: "I can do that." And he did.

Jones logged 1,300 yards in six straight seasons from 2014 to 2019, tying with Randy Moss and Torry Holt for second behind Jerry Rice.

Brown has notched that number twice so far and is hoping to go for three in 2024.

AJ Brown is the Reason Julio Jones Came to Philly

Brown is also one of the main reasons that Jones joined the Birds in 2023 after he recruited him to Philly.

Jones, 35, didn't light up the season by any means, but he did contribute 74 yards and three touchdowns.

Two of those touchdowns came in Week 17 against the Arizona Cardinals, marking the first time in three years since he had logged two scores in one game.

Jones's first one was a 12-yard endzone pass from Jalen Hurts at the end of the first quarter.

And just before halftime, Jones connected with Hurts again off of a tipped pass for a 22-yard touchdown.

The Eagles did not end up bringing Jones back in NFL free agency and he still remains on the open market today.

There's no reason for the Eagles to sign him now, but if he never plays again, at least some of his last memories were with his doppelganger.
