    Phillies Look for Win Over Dodgers to Force Wednesday Rubber Match

    The Philadelphia Phillies (66-46) need just one win in this three-game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers (66-47) to hold the tie-breaker should both teams finish the season with the same record. They will look to earn that win on Tuesday, forcing a rubber match on Wednesday.

    The Phillies will send lefty Cristopher Sanchez (7-7. 3.36 ERA) to the mound on Tuesday. In his last start, Sanchez allowed six earned runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out seven in 5 2/3 innings. Sanchez started against the Dodgers on July 10th, allowing two earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five in six innings.

    The Dodgers will turn to veteran lefty Clayton Kershaw (0-1, 5.87 ERA). In his last start, Kershaw allowed three earned runs on six hits and one walk without any strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings. Kershaw's repertoire includes a slider, four-seam fastball, curveball, changeup, splitter, and sinker. This will Kershaw's third start of the season.

    The first pitch for Tuesday's game is scheduled for 10:10 PM EST. The game will be broadcast nationally on MLB Network (out-of-market only) as well as NBC Sports Philadelphia and SportsNet LA.
