Traffic Tie-Ups Expected in Zanesville Thursday
Zanesville, OH- Thursday the City of Zanesville is hosting multiple events in the downtown area. In addition to the Tyler Farr show in the Secrest Auditorium parking lot, the Budweiser Clydesdales will parade from the Muskingum County Fairgrounds, down Brighton Boulevard to Ridge Avenue and then onto West Main Street and across the Y-Bridge and down Fourth Street to Secrest.

Putnam UGRR Forum: Verifying Putnam’s Underground Railroad Heritage
The second meeting of the Putnam Underground Railroad (UGRR) Forum will explore the historic significance and physical characteristics of five pre-Civil War structures in Zanesville’s Putnam Historic District. Featured properties are all National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom (NTF) sites. Included are the Stone Academy; the Putnam Presbyterian Church; and the homes of prominent UGRR operatives George & Sarah Guthrie, A.A. Guthrie, and Horace & Lucinda Belknap Nye.
Scheduled Maintenance and Precautionary Boil Advisory
Between the hours of 11:00 PM Thursday July 25, 2024 and 7:00 AM on July 26, 2024 crews with the City of Zanesville Water Division will be performing a controlled shut down and a multi‐valve replacement project in the areas of Mapleview Drive, Fairway Lane, Meadowood Drive and Pfeifer Drive. This project will cause a temporary disruption of water service to these areas. Local roadway traffic will be maintained.
Daughters of the American Revolution to Host Picnic for Veterans
ZANESVILLE, OH – The Daughters of the American Revolution are hosting a heartwarming picnic for veterans on Friday, July 19th. The event will take place at the American Legion Post 29 at 12 PM. Veterans and their guests are invited to enjoy a delicious and free lunch featuring hamburgers, pasta salad, baked beans, chips, and cookies. This picnic is a wonderful way to honor and thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice.
