Permit parking in the city of Philadelphia have increased from $35 to $75.

This started last Sunday after the Philadelphia Parking Authority announced the change last month.

Besides the hike in permits, households can now have a maximum of three permits.

The PPA said in a statement that it is raising prices to improve the overall quality and availability of their services.

“We understand that changes in pricing can be concerning, and we want to assure you that this decision was made to improve the overall quality and availability of our services,” said the PPA.

They are giving September permit holders until Monday, September 30th to renew their permits without penalties.

This is the first price hike since 1983 and you can call PPA permit office at 215-683-9730.
