Fever Coach Christie Sides Turns Heads With Honest Thoughts on Brittney Griner, Diana Taurasi

The Indiana Fever and the Phoenix Mercury are squaring off for the first time in the 2024 WNBA season on Sunday.

Fever head coach Christie Sides spoke with media on Saturday after practice ended. And when she was asked what about the Mercury jumps out at her, Sides responded with, "Brittney Griner, Diana Taurasi, all those shooters they have everywhere, Kahleah Copper," per Desert Wave Media .

"I mean ... there's just so much talent out there on that floor. [We need] to try to figure out just how we're gonna contain them," Sides added.

Clearly Sides believes there's a lot to worry about when it comes to the Mercury.

Sides was also asked specifically about Mercury guard Kahleah Copper.

"She's playing so well," Sides said. "I mean, she can take it off the bounce, she's shooting the ball well. You know, our goal is just to try to keep a body in front of a body the best we can."

We'll see whether that simple game plan produces success on Sunday.
