It wasn't easy, but Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever got the job done against Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury in a hard-fought battle on Sunday. After Clark questioned her team's competitiveness in their prior loss to the Seattle Storm, they definitely responded in a big way to pull off a huge upset.

Clark was naturally proud and ecstatic to see the Fever show that competitive edge after trailing by 15 points in. The rookie sharpshooter could only use one word to describe her team's mentality as they eventually sealed the 88-82 victory : Resilient.

"I think we were just resilient. You know, when they punch us in the mouth, we always found a way to answer. I think people stepped up when their number was called and put into the game," Clark said postgame.

"I thought we came out and started the second half well and really just found a way and dug deep and made plays when we needed to."

The Fever went into the halftime break down by double-digits (48-39), but Clark and Co. used a huge 29-15 third-quarter to turn the game on its head.

It set up an intense fourth quarter as Phoenix refused to lose easily. The Mercury went ahead 76-69 with 4:21 left to play, but the Fever clawed their way back to stun the home team.

Caitlin Clark finished with a near triple-double of 15 points, nine rebounds and 12 assists. Meanwhile, Aliyah Boston top-scored for the Fever with 17 points along with eight boards.

Brittney Griner had 24 for Phoenix, while Diana Taurasi ended up with 19. Unfortunately, it couldn't counter the balanced effort from Indiana.

It was indeed the ultimate show of resilience from the Fever. Now, they are back to playoff contention and well poised to string together a series of wins after a morale-boosting victory.
