Caitlin Clark Was Asked About Playing Diana Taurasi After Fever-Mercury

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever picked up a massive 88-82 victory over Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday. Clark finished the game with a near triple-double, posting 15 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds.

She spoke about the matchup and facing Taurasi for the first time in her WNBA career after the game.

"I'm just happy we won. It was cool to play against her (Taurasi) and obviously a really great game. And like you said, this crowd was absolutely incredible," said Clark via ESPN's postgame interview.

During the Fever's practice on Saturday, Clark mentioned that she idolized Taurasi when she was younger and that it was a "dream come true" to share the floor with the WNBA legend.

Clark didn't just get to compete against one of the greatest women's basketball players ever. She went onto her home court and helped the Fever snap their two-game losing streak with a big-time win.

Taurasi and Clark were seen hugging prior to the game, and they exchanged some words during the matchup.

Clark and the Fever advanced to 8-12 on the season after the victory. They're set to travel to Las Vegas to cap off their West Coast trip, competing against the Aces Tuesday at 9:30 ET.
