Indiana Fever Take Ruthless Shot at Diana Taurasi After Defeating Phoenix Mercury

The Indiana Fever snapped a two-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Phoenix Mercury to get back in the win column. This was a very impressive win for Indiana, which marked their first victory over a winning team this season, per the ESPN broadcast.

Star rookie Caitlin Clark came up a rebound shy of the first triple-double by a rookie in WNBA history, but still turned in an incredible line, finishing with 15 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds.

Following the game, Indiana took a blatant shot at Mercury veteran Diana Taurasi, referencing her comments about "reality" coming for Clark:

During the NCAA tournament, Taurasi said on ESPN of Clark, "Reality is coming.... You look superhuman playing against some 18 years olds, but you're going to come play with some grown women that have been playing professional basketball for a long time."

The comments went viral on social media at the time, as many felt Taurasi was hating on Clark.

Keeping receipts on these comments, the Fever wasted no time reminding Taurasi of what she had to say about Clark. While Taurasi outscored Clark in this game, the Fever point guard finished with the overall better line and the victory. The win moves Indiana to 8-12 on the season, and the loss drops the Mercury to an even 9-9.

This was a very impressive win for Indiana, as they were able to execute down the stretch, which has been one of the bigger problems for them at times this season.
