Kenny Chesney brought his Sun Goes Down Tour to Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix on Thursday, July 25, a night after the No Shoes Nation waited out a thunderstorm for nearly two hours before the concert was rescheduled due to “forecasts for lightning to continue throughout the rest of the evening."

The new date was billed as an Evening with Kenny Chesney and the weather did not interfere. Megan Moroney, who squeezed in a well-received opening set on Wednesday, July 25, before the threat of lightning brought things to a crashing halt, did not return to do the honors Thursday, allowing Chesney to start his set two hours earlier than usual.

Chesney only did one song from this year's "Born" — the one that took him back to No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay charts — preferring to focus on surefire audience favorites, from the opening shot of "Living in Fast Forward" through hits as huge as "How Forever Feels," "Summertime" and "Beer in Mexico."

It was a sold-out concert, as expected. Chesney's last two Phoenix concerts were at Chase Field, after all.
