WNBA superstars Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi are representing the Phoenix Mercury at the 2024 Paris Olympics. While she is still in the prime of her athletic career, Taurasi mentioned that the 2024 Olympic Games will be Griner's final participation in the international event.

As the 42-year-old enters her final Olympic Games, Griner shared her thoughts on the impact Taurasi has made on her career.

"I think I will be more emotional for that honestly," Griner said. "Basically, my whole career has been with D (Taurasi). Overseas, USA, Phoenix, she's taught me everything. I mean I credit a lot of my everything to her. Helping me out in life, basketball, overseas and international play. Just being able to share this court with her for another Olympics is very special to me."

Taurasi and Griner have played alongside each other in the WNBA since the Mercury's 2013 season. They're widely known as one of the best duos in league history, helping Phoenix secure the 2014 WNBA Championship.

Taurasi has won five gold medals, winning her first Olympic Games in 2004 in Athens, Greece. She shares the Olympic record for most gold medals in women's basketball history with WNBA legend Sue Bird, so winning the gold at the 2024 Paris Games would allow her to set a new record.

As Taurasi is nearing the end of her Olympic career, Griner made it known that her time left with one of the greatest women's basketball players of all time is very special to her.

The Team USA women's basketball team will take on Team Japan on July 29 at 3 p.m. ET, where Griner will have a chance to help Taurasi take the first step toward making Olympic history .
