The Pearl River County SPCA has launched its “20K for 20K” fundraiser to celebrate reaching 20,000 Facebook followers. The fundraiser aims to raise $20,000—$1 for each follower—to support the shelter’s operations.

The funds will be used to purchase new commercial-grade washer and dryer units, which are necessary for maintaining a clean environment for the animals. The equipment frequently breaks down, making the new units essential for the shelter.

“We have seen remarkable support from our community whenever we ask for help,” said Judy Wheaton, Vice President of the Pearl River County SPCA. “This includes funding for medical treatments, supplies like Vienna sausages for giving medication to our dogs, kitten milk, or peanut butter, as well as their time and effort at adoption events, transporting dogs, assisting at our Wellness Clinic, and participating in Street Fair activities. We rely on this support to provide for the pets in our care.”

The Pearl River County SPCA encourages the community to participate in the “20K for 20K” fundraiser. Every dollar contributed helps cover essential expenses. Increasing awareness by sharing the fundraiser with friends and family will bring more support to the cause. Supporters are also encouraged to create personal fundraisers on Facebook and invite their networks to contribute, setting personal goals to boost donations.
