HARRISON TWP — Pickaway County Sherriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Sunday afternoon on US 23 North in Harrison Township.

A 2012 red Mazda MZ6 was traveling northbound on US Route 23 north of South Bloomfield around 3:37 p.m. when it went off the west side of the Weigland Road, according to a press release issued Monday by the PCSO.

The Mazda overcorrected, shot back across the roadway, went off the east side of the roadway, rolled several times, then ejecting the driver and one of the two passengers.

The driver of the vehicle, Jerri L. Braswell, 32, of Columbus, was ejected from the vehicle, according to the PCSO. Braswell was pronounced dead at the scene by Harrison Township EMS. The two juvenile passengers of the vehicle, ages 9 and 11, were both transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital by Harrison Township EMS and Scioto Township EMS. Both juveniles are in stable condition.

Sheriff Matthew Hafey thanked the Harrison Township Fire and EMS, Scioto Township Fire and EMS, Circleville EMS, Jackson Township Fire Department, Pickaway County Coroner Dr. John Ellis, and the Ohio Department of Transportation for their assistance at the scene.
