Columbus City Schools teacher accused of kicking 5-year-old autistic student in lawsuit
A civil lawsuit was filed in federal court on Wednesday against the Columbus Board of Education and Jodi Fullerton, a teacher for the district. The suit was filed by Amanda and Kenneth Ross, parents of an unnamed 5-year-old autistic boy who attended Columbus City Schools preschool program. The suit alleges assault and battery, intentional emotional distress and 14th Amendment violations.
2024-2025 Free/Reduced Lunch Benefit Info
Hilliard City Schools is announcing the 2024-2025 school year Free/Reduced Lunch Benefit guidelines for students unable to pay the full price of meals served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program. The State of Ohio Budget for school year 2024-2025 includes funding to cover the cost of reduced meals for breakfast and lunch. This provision allows schools to provide no cost meals to reduced price meal eligible students.

Denison puts 141 student-athletes on NCAC Academic Honor Roll
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Denison University placed 141 student-athletes on the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Academic Honor Roll for the 2023-24 academic year. To be honored, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore on an active roster in a sport sponsored by the conference and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Eligible honorees are submitted by each school.
University parents voice housing concerns as the 2024-25 academic year approaches
As the Buckeye family grows even larger, concerns about housing accommodations for first- and second-year students are also on the rise. The class of 2028 had a record-breaking number of applicants — around 80,000 — Ben Johnson, university spokesperson, said in an email. This year’s first-year class is expected to be larger than last year’s first-year class — though the exact number is unknown by the university until students arrive and the autumn census data is compiled — Dave Isaacs, university spokesperson, said in an email. Last year’s first-year class contained 7,983 students, according to the Autumn 2023 Enrollment Report.

Online registration for new and returning families in the Columbus Community School District is now open. To register your child online, visit columbuscsd.org and click the blue “Registration” tab on the right side of the screen. From there, it will give step-by-step-directions for new and existing families in the District. The link also includes supply lists for secondary and elementary students.
