6 teenage baseball players charged as adults in South Dakota rape case take plea deals
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Six teenage players from a South Dakota American Legion baseball team who were charged as adults in a rape case last summer have reached plea deals. Three players from the Mitchell-based team pleaded guilty last month to being an accessory to a felony, and three others entered the same plea Monday, KELO-TV reported. All six players could face up to five years in prison at sentencing next month.

Convicted domestic abuser sentenced to 15 years for aggravated assault
RAPID CITY, S.D. - Brent Silk, aged 34, received a 15-year prison sentence for aggravated assault (domestic violence) following a jury conviction in May. This marks Silk's sixth felony conviction. Despite his eligibility for a life sentence due to his violent criminal record, Seventh Circuit Court Judge Josh Hendrickson opted for the 15-year term, citing that the victim's injuries did not result in permanent harm as the mitigating factor.

Second degree rape and aiding and abetting rape charges were filed, as well as other related charges, against six Mitchell American Legion players.

RAPID CITY, S.D. - A carefree, Friday evening at a downtown Rapid City hot sport turned frightening without warning. Around 11:20 p.m. on June 28, three individuals were seen going north on Mt. Rushmore Road on skateboards. There are reports that they were lighting fireworks and tossing them at passing cars.
Final Codefendants in Mitchell Legion Baseball Assault Case Accept Plea Deals
The last three codefendants in the alleged sexual assault of a Mitchell Legion baseball teammate have reached plea deals with the state. Karter Sibson, 18, Hudson Haley, 19, and Landon Waddell, 20, pleaded guilty to accessory to a felony in Pennington County court. Their charges were reduced from second-degree rape and aiding and abetting second-degree rape, which carry up to 50 years in prison each, to a Class 5 felony with a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
