    Super Load to roll through Pike County this week

    The thirteenth of nearly two dozen “super loads” will make its way from a dock on the Ohio River near Manchester in Adams County to New Albany in Licking County. This load, an air processor known as a cold box used in the silicon chip manufacturing process, measures approximately 23’ tall, 20’ wide, 280’ long, and weighs 916,000 pounds.

    The “super load” will depart Manchester on Monday, July 8 and stop overnight in West Portsmouth before moving on to Lucasville on its second day before stopping for the night.

    On Wednesday, July 10 the “super load” is scheduled to leave the Scioto County Garage at 5:45 a.m. and travel northbound on US 23 into Pike County on Wednesday morning.

    Once in Pike County the “super load” will move into southbound lanes of US 23 to avoid the traffic light in Piketon before continuing north on US 23 through Waverly.

    July 8 (Day 1) — Dock in Manchester to West Portsmouth (32 miles)

    Originates in Adams County, travels into Scioto County

    6:00 a.m. Departure (approximate)

    The load is scheduled to begin moving east on US Route 52

    The load is expected to cross over and travel the wrong way in the US Route 52 Westbound lanes just before the junction of SR 239 & US Route 52.

    The load will travel North on the SR 239 Southbound ramp toward SR 73/SR 852

    Overnight Location: West Portsmouth

    July 9 (Day 2) — West Portsmouth to Lucasville (14 miles)

    Originates in and travels through Scioto County

    7:45 a.m. Departure (approximate)

    The load will travel South in the Northbound lanes of SR 73/SR 852 to US Route 52

    Then it will head East in the Westbound lanes on US Route 52 to US Route 23 in Portsmouth

    Travel North on US Route 23 in the Northbound lanes to the intersection of Kinneys Lane and Argonne Road where it will cross over into the Northbound lanes toward Lucasville

    Overnight Location: ODOT Scioto County Garage

    July 10 (Day 3) — ODOT Scioto County Garage to Chillicothe (48 miles)

    Originates in Scioto County, travels through Pike County, and into Ross County

    5:45 a.m. Departure (approximate)

    Travel north on US Route 23 to Piketon where it will cross over into the Southbound lanes of US Route 23 at Market Street to maneuver around the traffic signals then cross back over into the Northbound lanes of US Route 23

    Travel North on US Route 23 to Chillicothe

    Take US Route 35 West to SR 104 North

    SR 104 North toward SR 762 near Commercial Point

    Overnight Location: North of SR 104/207 intersection

    July 11 (Day 4) — Chillicothe to Rickenbacker (35 miles)

    Originates in Ross County, travels through Pickaway County, and into Franklin County

    Continue to travel North on SR 104 to SR 762 near Commercial Point

    Travel East on State Route 762 to Rickenbacker Parkway
