PIKEVILLE, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A Pikeville doctor was sentenced on Monday to 32 months for illegally prescribing amphetamines.

According to a plea agreement, between April 15, 2022, and Sept. 27, 2022, six undercover patients visited 52-year-old Dr. Jason Stamper’s clinic. At each of those visits, Stamper prescribed Ritalin and Adderall to the officers, without a legitimate medical purpose.

The Department of Justice said stamper didn’t perform medical examinations, or require medical need for the prescription. The department also noted Stamper failed to secure blood work for five visits, increased doses and switched between the Ritalin and Adderall without explanation.
