Rochester Man Hurt in Crash at Rural Intersection in Northern MN
Park Rapids, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man was transported to a hospital after he was injured in a traffic crash in northern Minnesota this morning. The State Patrol says 74-year-old William Joseph Ryan was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee that collided with a pickup truck at the rural intersection of two highways in Hubbard County. The crash was reported just before 6 AM at the junction of Highway 64 and Highway 87 about 15 miles west of Park Rapids.

Photographer heads Southeast tech units
WINONA, Minn. – Minnesota State College Southeast has a new dean of trade and technology: Photographer and filmmaker Jake Griggs. Formerly he was associate liberal arts dean at Rochester Community and Technical College. Griggs began as a dean at Southeast in February but the appointment was announced belatedly. Griggs has degrees from University of Wisconsin-Stout and Drake University. He has taught at Western Technical College and UW-Stout. For 17 years he’s operated Drifting North Media out of Dakota in southern Winona County. He has specialized in business and family photography and video and design work. His “Three Bells” on a terminally ill mother has been exhibited at the Door County Short Film Festival in 2022 and at the Spring Grove International Film Festival in Fillmore County.
Trashcan Fire Spread to Residence at Rochester Mobile Home Park
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - What apparently started as a trash can fire resulted in significant damage to a residence at a southeast Rochester mobile home park on Saturday. The Rochester Fire Department says crews responded around 10:15 AM to reports of a fire at the Southgate Circle mobile home park, which is located off Highway 14 East near the Air Insanity indoor trampoline Park. When the firefighters arrived at the scene they found a trashcan and lean-to structure engulfed in flames.

MINNEAPOLIS — Things will stay unsettled for the next couple of days before more favorable weather returns.Expect pop-up storms on Monday in the afternoon and evening hours, with spells of sunshine and clouds as well. Highs will be in the lower 80s.Tuesday will also bring a chance of storms, mostly in the morning hours. Then, things start to dry out and some sunshine makes its way in. Highs will be similar to Monday's.As we head into midweek, high pressure starts to move in, allowing for smoother weather, temperatures in the lower 80s and sunshine.We'll get slightly warmer by the end of the week, with highs returning to the upper 80s by the weekend.
