Jamie xx Announces Club Residencies in New York and Los Angeles
Jamie xx will bring his club residency, the Floor, to New York and Los Angeles this summer, after launching the night at London’s Venue MOT earlier this year. The DJ will bring surprise guests to the residencies in Bushwick and downtown Los Angeles, with venues to be revealed later. The Brooklyn dates run from July 23-27 before he settles in in Los Angeles from July 30 to August 3. His new album, In Waves, will follow on September 20; the dates are preceded by his headline set at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago.

Irv Gotti the co-founder of Murder Inc. Records, is being sued for sexual assault and battery and the intentional infliction of emotional distress, the Miami New Times reports. A woman identified as Jane Doe filed the complaint in a Miami-Dade County, Florida, court on July 11. She is seeking a jury trial and “damages, including those for mental anguish.”

The musician’s follow-up to 2006’s Solo Guitar is titled White Roses, My God and will arrive on September 27 via Sub Pop. Judge in Young Thug Trial Recused From Case
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville, who was overseeing the racketeering and gang conspiracy trial against Young Thug and five associates in Atlanta, Georgia, has been recused from the case, reports The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Lawyers for defendants Young Thug (aka Jeffrey Lamar Williams) and Deamonte Kendrick filed motions claiming that Glanville held a secret meeting with prosecutors and key witness Kenneth Copeland to pressure him to testify, which attorneys argued was improper and unconstitutional. In response, Glanville paused the case indefinitely at the start of July. Judge Rachel Krause has now ruled that, while Glanville discussed nothing improper during that meeting and the court believes he could still preside over the case fairly, the meeting should have been held in public and, as such, Glanville should be excused to preserve “the public’s confidence in the judicial system.”

DaBaby Pleads Guilty to Misdemeanor Simple Battery in Los Angeles County
In 2022, DaBaby was charged with felony battery and accused of sucker-punching a Los Angeles County rental property owner during an unauthorized music video shoot. The rapper has now agreed to plead guilty to misdemeanor simple battery, TMZ reports and Pitchfork can confirm. As a result of the plea deal, DaBaby has also been sentenced to one day in a Los Angeles County jail (which he has served), given a year of probation, and ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution to the victim.
The Smile Cancel Tour Dates After Jonny Greenwood Hospitalized for Serious Illness

Tame Impala are back… with a line of A.P.C. clothing. Kevin Parker has brought a capsule of “psychedelic minimalism” to the Parisian fashion brand, whose founder, Jean Touitou, has been a fan since a tip-off from his daughter. “It struck me as a synthesis of everything I’ve liked since the 1960s, from Soft Machine to Pink Floyd,” Touitou enthused in a press release. “I immediately loved their musical singularity and their deceptively casual style.”
