Readers might know the author from the terrific blog Dad Fixes Everything. Porter’s fictional dad, John, is an anxious mess. He finds out about a week of traditional summer camp only for dads and daughters, which brings him and his 11-year-old, Avery, together with a collection of memorable misfits.
