Pittsburg fireworks postponed to Friday; More 4-state events

(KOAM) -- Storms caused issues for some area firework shows Thursday evening.

City of Pittsburg, KS, and Monett, MO, officials postponed their shows, while Joplin officials started theirs 15 minutes early Thursday night.

Here are some updates and a look at other events happening Friday, July 5, in our area.

Pittsburg Firework Show:

The City of Pittsburg announced the firework show is set to start tonight at 10 p.m. Officials postponed the show due to heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Monett Firework Show:

The community of Monett postponed its firework show for Friday night at 9:15 p.m. The city says the show is estimated to last around 16 minutes at the Monett South Park.
