    Southeast Kansas Special Olympics bowlers aim for state

    PITTSBURG, Kan. (KOAM) - ​Special Olympics bowlers in the Southeast Kansas Region aimed for a chance to compete at the state level.

    Over 270 adult bowlers participated in the Southeast Regional Bowling Tournament today at Holiday Lanes in Pittsburg.

    It was an opportunity for athletes with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities to not only compete but also come together as a community.

    The competition ran from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    The state bowling event is scheduled for August 9-10 in Olathe, Kansas.​
