The Pirates made a roster move ahead of Monday night’s game against Cincinnati.

Right-handed pitcher Daulton Jefferies has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.

To make room on the roster, LHP Justin Bruihl has been optioned to the Indians.

This is Jefferies’ second stop in Pittsburgh after he was recalled for the May 29 doubleheader against the Tigers in Detroit.

The Pirates traded from Jefferies in early May. A deal with San Francisco for outfielder prospect Rodolfo Nolasco.

Jefferies is 0-2 this season in the MLB with an ERA of 17.36. He’s only pitched 4.2 innings in the Majors this season with the Giants.

The Pirates say the 28-year-old allowed one run over 5.2 innings during his last start with Indianapolis on June 11. He has yet to pitch for the Pirates.

Bruihl has made six appearances for the Pirates this season with a 6.75 ERA. He’s pitched 5.1 innings with four strike outs, four earned runs giving up and one walk.
