( WJET/WFXP ) – A Pittsburgh man was sentenced in federal court on the conviction of conspiracy to distribute a large-scale amount of cocaine.

United States District Judge William S. Stickman IV imposed a 15-year prison sentence on 53-year-old Kevin Rucker.

According to court documents, Rucker supplied at least 35 kilograms of cocaine to other drug traffickers in the Pittsburgh area over nearly a year in which Rucker was responsible for the possession or distribution.

He was previously convicted in 2015 in federal court in Pittsburgh of conspiring to distribute heroin.

Judge Stickman also noted that “Rucker was a recidivist drug trafficker responsible for large-scale trafficking in the Pittsburgh area, and that Rucker served as a ringleader in the conspiracy.”

Rucker will also serve 10 years of supervised release following his prison sentence.

The Drug Enforcement Administration, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation were commended for their investigation leading to this case.
