For those hoping to see new Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson get his first practice reps in training camp on Thursday, you'll have to wait at least another day.

According to multiple beat writers on the ground, Wilson did not take part in practice on Thursday. Sporting a baseball cap, Wilson led the team during stretches but did not take part, nor did he take the field for individual or team drills.

With Wilson sidelined, fellow quarterback Justin Fields got the reps with the first-team offense, as expected.

Thankfully, it doesn't appear that Wilson is dealing with an kind of injury, otherwise he probably wouldn't be out there at all.

"Internally, your expectations for yourself have to be higher than everyone else's," Wilson said upon arriving at camp on Wednesday. "I remember when I was a rookie, I was a third-round pick, the 75th pick overall. I was the third-string quarterback on the roster. I was determined I was going to take that job. That's got to be the mentality every day. That's the mentality every day. Try to be your best. God has given me a ton of talent. Anyone that's here staying in those dorms has a ton of talent. How do we make the most of that? You do it with great confidence and composure and an edge when you play."

The Steelers will hold their second practice on Friday. We'll see if Russ takes part in that one.
