PITTSBURGH, PA. (WKBN) – The Pittsburgh Pirates have officially placed All-Star outfielder Bryan Reynolds on the bereavement list.

The MLB Bereavement List allows teams to replace players who have to tend to a death or serious illness in the family. He could miss between 3-7 days.

The Pirates will complete another transaction to add a player to the roster prior to Friday night’s game in Arizona.

Reynolds missed his first game of the season on Wednesday with back spasms.

This season, Reynolds is leading the Pirates with a .288 batting average, 18 home runs, and 61 RBI’s.
