Pittsburgh Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger catches a stray from ESPN during UFC 304 PPV

Ben Roethlisberger hasn't been shy about being in the media since retiring from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Unafraid to share his true opinion of the team, his weekly watch-a-longs during the NFL season have become excellent content for Steelers fans.

But late last night, while Big Ben was either minding his own business or asleep, the production crew at UFC 304 hit the wrong button and it wasn't exactly flattering for Roethlisberger.

Big Ben gets accidently dunked on

Look, I've never been in a production truck, though I know how the behind-the-scenes of making T.V. works. Typically, there are timestamps and mapped-out plans on what and when images, videos, and graphics are shown on the screen.

More specifically, these are organized ahead of time and sorted by the event. So how in the world you see a graphic of Ben Roethlisberger pop up on a UFC PPV is beyond me.

Sure it's ESPN and the graphic resembles one that would be used on Sunday or Monday Night Countdown, or even during NFL Live, but again, I'm not sure how that gets into the folder.

To make matters worse for Big Ben, it was about his: "3rd down miscues," which tells me the graphic is probably from 2021, Ben's final season in Pittsburgh.

Either way, it was a hilarious mishap, and one I'm sure that Ben would laugh off. A good sport, Ben doesn't come off as sensitive, especially when you consider some of his comments on Mike Tomlin and the team, which received pushback from T.J. Watt.

"I said, (and one of the leaders at the time kind of got on me for saying it) that I felt some guys on the team aren't in it for the team, they're in it for themselves," Roethlisberger said on his podcast Footbahlin back in December . " Well, now some of the guys on the team are saying the same thing. So maybe I wasn't too far when I said that. I know that I'm retired, I'm not in the locker room, I get it. It just feels like that. It just feels like something that's been lost on this team a little bit. It just feels like the Steeler Way is just not."

Safe to say that Watt wasn't a fan of those words.

“At the end of the day, it’s all about the guys in the locker room and it’s hard for people on the outside to truly get a feel for what’s going on on the inside,” Watt said in a Feb. 8 interview with Yahoo Sports’ Jason Fitz , in response to a question about Ben Roethlisberger's comments from the season.

It will be interesting to see how vocal Ben is regarding the upcoming season.
