    Man arrested in Florida arraigned in Pittsfield for allegedly sexually abusing minor

    PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A man arrested in Florida was brought back to Pittsfield to face charges in connection with allegedly sexually assaulting a minor.

    According to a news release sent to 22News from the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office, Omar Soto-Rincon was arrested by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. He was extradited to Massachusetts by U.S. Marshals for allegedly sexually abusing a minor.

    On Tuesday, Soto-Rincon was arraigned in Central Berkshire District Court in Pittsfield for indecent assault and battery on a person under 14. He is being held on $5,000 bail and his pretrial hearing is scheduled for January 6, 2025.
