NEW YORK (PIX11) — The next change for the G train has arrived.

From August 12th to September 3rd, the G train will not run between Bedford-Nostrand and Church Avenue.

The G is running again between Long Island City, Queens, and Brooklyn.

Phase 3 of the signal modernization project has crews on the southern section of the line. Communication-based train control allows more trains to run. New wiring for underground cell service is also being installed.

Riders are making another switch from the train to the bus at Bedford-Nostrand Avenues in Bed-Stuy. A network of free shuttle buses along the B93 route are running day and night.

The B93 route makes stops along the G line between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues and Hoyt-Schermerhorn. It then travels to Jay St-Metrotech and its subway connections.

Riders have to account for that extra time travel and traffic.

Federal funding keeps some MTA elevator projects on track

The work started on the tracks between Queens and Brooklyn at the end of June.

300,000 miles of new cable have been installed along with new switches and major new infrastructure at Court Square.

The work part continues through Sept 3rd. The big project to modernize G train signals is ongoing through September 2027.

Some weekend closures will also happen this year.
