    Portal connecting New York City and Dublin to close permanently

    NEW YORK (PIX11) — In a few weeks, the Portal connecting New York City and Dublin , Ireland, will permanently close.

    The art installation in Flatiron, which streams live between the two locations, is closing on Sept. 2, according to Secret NYC.

    In May, after a string of bad behavior on both sid es of the screen, new limited hours were implemented from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    New York City’s Portal installation is next to the Flatiron Building in the Flatiron South Public Plaza at Broadway, Fifth Avenue, and 23rd Street. In Dublin, the Portal was installed facing bustling O’Connell Street in the city center.
