NEW YORK (PIX11) — New Yorkers are not fans of other New Yorkers, according to a survey.

A new study by BetMGM asked people to rank the residents in their state on various topics on a scale of 1 to 10. The topics ranged from friends and co-workers to entertainment and transit in their state.

The state of New York ranked the lowest among multiple people-related categories, according to the study. New Yorkers ranked others from the state at 5.67, the lowest of all the states.

Nevada ranked just below New York at 5.85. With a 5.88, Rhode Island was ranked the third state with the worst overall people. The study said all three states ranked below the national average of 6.72.

New Yorkers are also not fans of their co-workers, the study revealed. They ranked worst again with a 6.45. West Virginia ranked second at 6.49, and Rhode Island made a sighting again with a 6.82 rating. The study said these states are all under the national average of 7.21.

    More New Jersey News

New York did, however, rank high in the public transportation category with a 6.45. The state ranked between Illinois with a 6.50 and Oregon with a 6.38. All are atop the national average of 4.71, according to the study.

New Jersey oozes confidence from its residents, ranking atop several categories, including co-workers, education and entertainment, the study revealed.

The Garden State ranked first in co-workers with a 7.96, followed by Pennsylvania at 7.75 and Nebraska at 7.68. The study also showed that New Jersey ranked third in entertainment with a 7.96, coming behind Nevada with an 8.35 and California with an 8.30. All are above the national average of 6.31.

Not all was good for New Jersey, though. It ranked third worst in housing, with a 3.10 ranking, just behind Hawaii, at 2.16, and Massachusetts, at 2.92.
