There is an old joke whether you live in Boutte or Baton Rouge, Breaux Bridge or Bastrop if your driver's license says "Louisiana" then you live in a low-lying area. And while it's true that some parts of our state lie lower than others, it's also true that no matter where you live in Louisiana over the next couple of days heavy rainfall is going to be a concern for you.

Low pay is driving away Louisiana's early childhood education teachers, survey says
While Louisiana has made progress in expanding early childhood education for thousands of children, most workers still don't earn a living wage, according to a recent survey. New Orleans, however, is tackling some of the problem through local taxpayer money — a major source of funding for early education that's helped standardize the minimum wage for teachers.
LSU leads the way in Cole Cubelic’s SEC offensive line rankings
Former Auburn offensive lineman and current SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic recently ranked the top offensive lines in the SEC. The LSU Tigers are No. 1 on his board followed by Georgia, Texas, Tennessee and Missouri. When you look at LSU’s offensive line, there are two huge reasons why the Tigers are sitting at No. 1 on Cubelic’s list. Those reasons? Will Campbell and Emery Jones Jr.. Campbell and Jones are two of the top five offensive tackle prospects for the 2025 NFL draft with Campbell being the No. 1 offensive tackle and one of the top five overall draft prospects. Combine those two guys with three other solid offensive linemen and the talent that LSU has on the offensive side of the ball and you have a recipe for what could be one of the best offenses in the country this fall. Garrett Nussmeier and the Tigers offense will try to lead Brian Kelly to his third straight 10-win season on the Bayou. Talent? Of course. Coaching? A necessity. Money? There’s real gold poured into those gold medals. But it’s much more than that. It’s dedication, sacrifice and an almost incomprehensible drive for a goal that most of us only see the results of every four years. Tricia Schwartz knows....
