The Museum at Warm Springs has received a $100,000 grant from First Nations Development Institute in Longmont, Colorado through its Native Arts, Language and Knowledge Program. As visitors walk into the Little Thompson Valley Pioneer Museum, they’re struck by the fancy, bright blue car front and center of the main museum building. “Having the car there shows another piece of Berthoud history that will draw people in to check out the rest of the museum,” said Andrew Wayland, museums manager for the Berthoud Historical Society, which operates the Little Thompson Valley Pioneer and McCarty-Fickel Home museums. “People really like seeing old cars and being able to see something different than what would be in your typical small-town museum.”
