Flooding Conditions Too Much for Ducktona – Event Cancelled, But Raffle Still On
Rubber ducks and water just go together, but too much of the latter has washed out a popular fundraising event this weekend. The annual “Ducktona”, sponsored by Sheboygan Falls Chamber-Main Street, had to be cancelled due to the twice-flooded grounds of River Park in Sheboygan Falls. The event, which besides the rubber duck race on the Sheboygan River was to include a classic antique boat and car show that had over 300 entries, along with food and entertainment on the grounds, was scheduled for Sunday, but has now been reduced to a raffle-only at 3 p.m. on the 7th at the Chamber office on Broadway Avenue.
Construction, uneven water distribution at Sheboygan treatment facility one reason for overflow last week
SHEBOYGAN – Heavy rain and construction compounded the water levels of Sheboygan’s wastewater treatment facilities that led to an overflow at the end of June. Partially treated water from three Sheboygan Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant sites reached Lake Michigan and part of Lakeview Park last week, as the city received 7 inches of rain within a few days. The park was closed June 25 and 26 to allow for cleanup.

Wisconsin drug dealer sentenced for turning ghost gun into a machine gun
MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – A 28-year-old Wisconsin man was sentenced to federal prison on Tuesday for turning a ghost gun into a fully functional machine gun. According to a release, Byron Ellison, 28, from Windsor, was sentenced to three-and-a-half years behind bars for possessing heroin and fentanyl intended for distribution and possessing a machine gun.
