POCATELLO — A driver talking on a cell phone caused a crash in downtown Pocatello that left three vehicles damaged and sent a man to the hospital, police said.

The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. Saturday on the 300 block of North Main Street when the adult female driver of a car was talking on her cell phone and struck a parked SUV, police said. The impact then sent the SUV crashing into a parked pickup truck.

A man was sitting in the parked SUV and suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash, authorities said. He was transported via Pocatello Fire Department ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center for treatment.

There were no other injuries in the crash.

The car and SUV involved in the crash suffered heavy damage while the unoccupied pickup truck had only minor damage.

Pocatello police said they cited the driver of the car for driving while talking on a cell phone.

The crash partially blocked North Main Street for over 30 minutes.

The names of those involved in the wreck have not been released.

The crash remains under investigation by Pocatello police.
