Here’s what Highland High School could look like in a few years
POCATELLO — Work is moving forward on plans to rebuild parts of Highland High School damaged by a large fire last year. The Highland High School Rebuild and Design Committee is still in the planning and development phase to rebuild the half the school that was destroyed in last April’s fire. Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 anticipates by December or January, it will be ready to put the $64 million construction project out to bid, and estimates the rebuild will be complete in 2027.

With his second season at Idaho State’s helm coming up, former Colorado football quarterback Cody Hawkins has added his father, Dan, to his coaching staff. Idaho State announced Wednesday that Dan Hawkins, who coached his son while leading the Buffs from 2006-10, will join the Bengals’ staff as their director of player and staff development. BOISE, Idaho – During a community celebration at The Village in Meridian, the Idaho Lottery commemorated their record-breaking 35th Anniversary by returning the single largest dividend in their history to the people of Idaho. The Idaho Lottery Commission presented Governor Brad Little with an $84,000,000 dividend check, a 2.4% increase over last year’s dividend.

Idaho's unemployment rate grows in June compared to May
BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Department of Labor reported on Friday the unemployment rate in the Gem State increased from 3.3% to 3.4% in June, as compared to May. According to the department's report, unemployment increased by 578 people (1.8%) to 33,162. However, the total number of employees also increased by 1,649 people (0.2%) to 944,740.
