2024 Rendezvous Balloon Rally Flew Two of Three Days
The 44th Annual Riverton Rendezvous Balloon Rally flew on Friday and Saturday, but Sunday's launch was scrubbed due to wind. Twenty balloons from around the globe, 17 from the USA, two from Canada and one from Belgium made up the field this year. Specialty balloons included Baby T-Rex from Vernal, Utah; Humpty Dumpty from Louisville, KY and the celebrity speaker Peter Van Overwalle's Princess Nelly from Nazareth, Belgium. CHAPS brings the Tournament of Knights to Sheridan for the 7th year
The Knights of Valor are returning to compete in Sheridan during a one day medieval festival to benefit CHAPS Equine Assisted Services. West Nile Virus Detected In Mosquito Samples In Laramie
West Nile virus (WNV) has been documented in two mosquito samples collected over the past few weeks just outside city limits. The positive samples were isolated in mosquitos collected from surveillance traps monitored by City of Laramie Mosquito Control. The samples were determined to be positive for WNV via RAMP testing performed by City of Laramie Mosquito technicians this week.
