Hazlet: Recreation Facility Concept Plan Includes Grant Funded Amenities for Residents.
HAZLET, NJ: Utilizing grants and low interest rate loans, the governing body in Hazlet has made much needed improvements over the last few years, providing great amenities for its residents. Among them to highlight a couple: The 8th Street Park Improvement Plan that transformed 8th Street Park into a multi-faceted park for all children called Freedom Park. It opened in October 2023. Six Pickleball courts and two Tennis Courts were installed in Veterans Park in July 2023. Toms River softball team loses state championship to the rules
Toms River and Hanover were playing for a state championship. The game was called when a lightning sensor went off. The Toms River Little League 12U softball team thought they still had a chance at the state championship Wednesday night and advance into tournament play but a ruling by Little League baseball ended that dream.
4-Year-Old with Serious Injuries, Three Others Injured After Car Crashes into Tree in East Windsor
EAST WINDSOR, NJ (MERCER)–Police say that on Friday, July 19, 2024, at approximately 10:53 p.m., the East Windsor Police Department responded to a reported collision involving a single vehicle crashing into a tree in the area of Brookwood Gardens. Preliminary investigation revealed that a black 2008 Honda Civic was traveling west on Hickory Corner Road, veered off the roadway, and collided into a large tree located on Brookwood Gardens property. The driver and three passengers were injured. A juvenile passenger (4-years-old) sustained serious injuries and was transported to RWJ New Brunswick by New Jersey State Police Medevac and Capital Health Paramedics. The driver, an adult passenger, and an additional juvenile passenger were all transported via ambulance to RWJ New Brunswick for non-life-threatening injuries. The incident is under investigation by the East Windsor Police Department and Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ: The Middletown Township Police Department this month held two graduations for their Summer 2024 Police Youth Week Camps. Jersey Shore beach bans swimming all summer over high levels of fecal matter
There Shore-ly won’t be any swimming here. High levels of fecal bacteria found in the water at Beachwood Beach West in the Jersey Shore borough of Beachwood led officials to ban on swimming there for the rest of the summer.
