Shooting leaves one dead in Poland

An investigation is ongoing following a shooting death in Poland.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s office is coordinating with the Maine State Police to investigate the death at 252 White Oak Hill Road, according to Maine Department of Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss.

Sheriffs responded to the scene around 7:50 p.m. on Friday evening, Moss said.

The person’s body has been transported to the Maine medical examiner’s office, where an autopsy to determine cause of death will be conducted.

There is no threat to the public, according to Moss.
