IOWA FINANCE AUTHORITY AWARDS MORE THAN $10.6 MILLION IN FEDERAL HOUSING TAX CREDITS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF MORE THAN 400 RENTAL HOMES IN 9 COMMUNITIES
(DES MOINES) – The Iowa Finance Authority Board of Directors today awarded a total of more than $10.6 million in federal housing tax credits to support the construction and rehabilitation of a total of 404 affordable rental homes for Iowans. The awards were made to 10 rental housing projects located in Burlington, Charles City, Davenport, Des Moines, Jefferson, Knoxville, Mount Pleasant, Oskaloosa and Spirit Lake.

Police investigating two robberies at Des Moines gas station
DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is investigating two separate robberies at the Git N Go on Keosauqua Way. Both were reported in the last week. The first incident happened on Saturday, June 29. According to investigators, a worker reported a suspect armed with a knife and a handgun. Police say one person ran from officers and was detained, but they were not charged in the robbery.

Farmland Leasing and Management Workshops to address setting fair cash rents
ALTOONA – Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is conducting a dozen in-person farmland lease meetings in Central Iowa in early August. Meeting sites include Adel, Altoona, Ames, Boone, Grinnell, Grundy Center, Indianola, Knoxville, Newton, Marshalltown, Oskaloosa, and Toledo.
