Detectives have shared a distressing video showing the moment a woman, in what they describe as an 'uncontrollable rage', allegedly ran over a man who was holding a baby.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office released the footage , claiming that the woman deliberately drove into the man, injuring both him and the child he was carrying. The woman, identified as 27-year-old Aaliyah Ross, has been arrested and is currently detained at the Orange County Jail. Ross faces charges of aggravated child abuse, aggravated battery-domestic, negligent child abuse, battery-domestic, and leaving the scene of a crash with property damage.

The male victim, a 25-year-old, was reportedly treated and discharged from hospital but suffered injuries including bruising to his body and lungs. The infant boy, believed to be 16 months old and whose identity has not been disclosed, was hospitalized with a broken left shoulder collar bone, multiple broken ribs, a partially collapsed lung, and abrasions and bruising on his body.

Reports suggest the incident began after an argument between Ross and the injured man, before he placed two other young children, aged 4 and six months old, into her car. He then reportedly got into the driver's seat of the Toyota Corolla, took the infant, and fled, reports the Mirror US .

Ross allegedly floored it, mowing down the two victims before bashing the car into a trailer. At 12:22 pm, Ross reportedly returned to the empty home to place the baby inside and then left him unattended before bolting from the scene again.

Ross got collared by cops and apparently spilled to detectives she had feigned running over the bloke countless times before but always swerved away at the last tick. She reckoned this meant he'd dodge out of the way during the scrap.

Sheriff Grady Judd released a statement, saying: "Aaliyah Ross made a series of incredibly unthinkable choices Monday: running over a man and a baby with a car, leaving the baby alone, and failing to get medical treatment for the obviously injured baby. Someone who does this to a baby will do this to anyone-her uncontrollable rage is a threat to the public."

The other weans were located and right now, the Florida Department of Children and Families have got their heads together working out who'll take care of them while the coppers are digging deeper into the case.
