Woman invited to Daytona Beach apartment raped by self-described hit man, police say
A Daytona Beach man invited a woman waiting for a friend at a park to his apartment and then raped her, police said. Harold Fletcher, 66, told the woman at Joe Harris Park on Pearl Street that she could come to his apartment and wait there until her friend got off work, Daytona Beach police said.

The occupants of a Cessna aircraft that crashed in a backyard in DeLand causing minor injuries last week were identified Tuesday by the sheriff's office. The pilot was Roberto Isaias Chang Mera, 30, of Daytona Beach, and his passenger was Norman Antonio Borge Carcamo, 42, of Coral Springs, according to a sheriff's office incident report.
