Amplifying their first-place spot in the American League East, the Baltimore Orioles on MASN are dominating prime time, outpacing every other local broadcast station and cable network by a wide margin, according to the latest Neilsen ratings. Orioles viewership is up by double digits compared with the 2023 season as the team posted a 58-38 record in the first half of the 2024 campaign.
Former All-Star pitcher Jerry Walker dies at 85
The Orioles announced on Wednesday that former All-Star pitcher Jerry Walker died over the weekend. He was 85. Walker, a 6-foot-1 right-hander, signed with Baltimore out of East Central University in Oklahoma. Even though he was just 18 years old at the time, the O’s sent Walker straight to the big leagues. He remarkably managed a 2.93 ERA over 13 appearances (three starts) down the stretch in 1957. The O’s sent him down the following season and gave him nearly a full year in the minors to build up as a starting pitcher. In 1959, Walker got a shot at Baltimore’s rotation.
Ravens Likely to Use Returning Draft Pick ‘Situationally’
Staying healthy has been a major challenge for David Ojabo, so it’s probably sensible the Baltimore Ravens are planning to make limited use of the third-year edge-rusher. Ojabo, the team’s second-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft, is coming back from knee surgery that cost him all-but three games last season. The Ravens will have to manage his return carefully, so they “will probably use Ojabo situationally,” according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.
Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, boxer on probation, to attend 2024 Paris Olympic Games
Gervonta “Tank” Davis, a boxer who is on probation for a hit-and-run in Baltimore, will be allowed to attend the Paris 2024 Olympics, thanks to a judge’s ruling. Davis will be in Paris to support Team USA boxing in an advisory role. Davis pleaded guilty to four counts for a 2020 hit-and-run. He was sentenced to 90 days home detention.

Easton motel armed robbery under investigation
EASTON, Md. – Police are searching for a subject wanted in connection to an armed robbery in Easton late Wednesday night. According to police, the incident took place at around 11:30 p.m. at the Econo Lodge, located at 8175 Ocean Gateway. The motel clerk told police that a man had pulled out a handgun and demanded money. After obtaining an unknown amount of money, the suspect fled on foot near the back of the motel.

Last week, the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce held a grand opening receiption at its renovated headquarters in downtown Wilmington. "The plot of land for One Commerce Center was originally donated to the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce by DuPont and has been the location we have called home since 1983.
